A meatloaf is a classic comfort food that's easy to make and a great choice for dinner on a chilly night. This recipe makes it even better with tender, juicy ground beef and a sweet & tangy ketchup-based glaze!
It's the combination of juicy ground beef, savory seasonings, and a sweet & tangy glaze! It's one of my favorites and will quickly become a family favorite!
First, add your onion soup mix and French's fried onions to a food processor. Give it a few good pulses to break down the onions and mix them in with your meat mixture.
Now combine the cooled onions, ground beef, eggs, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and bread crumbs in a large bowl. Gently mix the meatloaf mixture together until just combined.
Bake the meatloaf at 375deg F until it's done and a thermometer reads 160deg. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Ideally, it should be baked in a low oven at 350deg F. This temperature allows the meatloaf to get a nice crust on the outside and to cook through without drying out the inside.
Generally, 85% or 90% lean ground beef is the best choice for this recipe. You want it to be moist and tender with not too much fat. Also, use a digital oven thermometer to ensure that it's cooked all the way through.
