First Watch Morning Meditation

Morning Meditation is a great way to start your day. It can help you boost focus as soon as you wake up, and it may also help keep stress levels down throughout the day.

How can I meditate in the morning?

A lot of people believe that the best time to meditate is in the morning, especially when the mind is at its most calm. This is because nothing stressful has happened yet, and our brains are still at their most receptive to change.

Before you begin your meditation, make sure you are in a comfortable, quiet place that you won't be disturbed by any distractions. It's also important to set a timer and close your eyes so you can get into a more focused state of mind.

Posture and Breathing Technique

To meditate, you want to find a posture that is comfortable and allows your body to rest and relax. You don't need to be rigid or hunched over, but you do need to sit up straight and breathe deeply into your nose.

The next step is to watch your breathing, noticing how the air moves in and out of your mouth, throat and lungs. If you get distracted, gently bring your attention back to your breath and try counting one on the inhale and two on the exhale.

You might need to repeat this exercise a few times before you feel like you're able to sit in stillness for a long period of time. If you are new to meditating, consider starting with a guided meditation instead of trying to do it on your own. Guided meditations can be helpful for people who tend to have a tendency to wander during their meditation sessions.
