There are a few different styles of nose stud, so it's important to choose the right one for you. The type of nose stud that works best for you depends on your personal preference and how often you want to change your jewelry.
Straight Nose Stud (Push Pin): These are easier to put on and take off than threaded ones. Simply push the stud into your piercing straightways and align the flat end pin to the inside of your piercing hole.
Threaded Nose Stud: These are a little harder to put on and remove, but they're also more secure. You'll need to screw the stud into the post before pushing it into your piercing, so this may not be for you if you're worried about getting it off.
Hoop Nose Stud: These are similar to a straight nose stud but they're made of a wire that has been shaped into a circle with a small gap between the ends. To insert this type of nose ring, you'll slip the opening over your nostril, taking one of the ends and placing it in your nose.
Bar Closure Nose Ring: This is a more secure type of nose ring than the captive bead type. You can insert it in a few different ways depending on the style you're trying to achieve, but most people prefer the bar closure style as it's easier to clean than the captive bead ring.
Nose Bone Nose Stud: These are a bit easier to remove than a hoop nose stud, but they can be more uncomfortable. To remove a bone nose stud, you'll need to hold onto the decorative end with one hand and pull your nostril taught with the other.
