Kate Johnson is a famous author, as well as a very popular and effective meditation therapist. She has written several books on her journey into self-discovery and healing. Her book, Radical Friendship, is a fantastic resource for anyone who wants to learn more about the power of friendship and how to nurture it. In her book, Kate also shares her experience of doing meditation on a daily basis, and explains the different ways to use this technique in your life.


Kate Johnson is a meditation teacher and movement coach, working with organizations and individuals seeking greater sustainability, diversity, and social justice. She is trained as an Insight Meditation teacher, facilitator, and culture change consultant. Her background is in the arts, and she has taught at the Rubin Museum, Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia, and the New York Insight Meditation Center. She has also written for Tricycle, Lion's Roar, and Turning Wheel magazines.

She is a graduate of Spirit Rock's four-year teacher training program. She is a certified teacher in Insight Meditation, and she has taught classes at many meditation centers, cultural institutions, and universities. She has also produced video meditation retreats for Tricycle Magazine Online. Kate has been practicing Buddhist meditation since 2008. She has taught workshops at the Rubin Museum, the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia, and the Insight Meditation Center in New York. As a writer, she has published articles in Tricycle, Lion's Roar, Turning Wheel, and the New York Times.

Radical Friendship

Kate Johnson has authored a new book titled RADICAL FRIENDSHIP: How to Make Friends Who Share Your Values. The book draws on an ancient Buddhist text called the Mitta Sutta. It offers seven actionable strategies for building friendships that will make you happier.

In her book, Kate Johnson describes seven strategies that will help you build better relationships, including the following: Identify the strengths and weaknesses of each friend. Offer each friend support and encouragement to grow. Provide each friend with practical tools and advice. Encourage each friend to participate in activities that are fun and rewarding.
