Acting career

Michael Imperioli is an actor and writer. He's best known for his role as Christopher Moltisanti on The Sopranos. Besides acting in The Sopranos, he's also appeared in films by Spike Lee, Martin Scorsese, Abel Ferrara, and Peter Jackson.

When he moved back to New York from Los Angeles, he worked as a bartender, cook, and waiter. And when he found success as an actor, he felt unfulfilled. As a result, he decided to explore different spiritual traditions.

It took a decade before Michael finally found a spiritual practice that helped him. After a stint of studying various mystical traditions, he became intrigued with Buddhism. Eventually, he made a commitment to becoming a Buddhist.

Today, Imperioli shares his spiritual practice with others. He has also begun a meditation group over Zoom.

Buddhist path

His journey was a combination of martial arts, shamanistic traditions and Tibetan Buddhism. He now practices a daily meditation routine, has a dharma center in New York and is the guitarist and lead singer of an indie rock band.

One of his latest endeavors is a podcast called Talking Sopranos. In it, he co-hosts with Steve Schirripa. They discuss topics related to their work on the show.

Imperioli also writes a coming-of-age novel, which he plans to turn into a movie. Imperioli wrote five episodes of the soap opera The Sopranos, and the triumvirate of Imperioli, Berg and Solomon will be executive producers.

The new series will be a meta-fictional take on Imperioli's own experiences as a practicing Buddhist. Imperioli will be playing the role of Christopher Moltisanti, the head of a crime family. It is rumored that this series will be produced by HBO.
