In many cultures, the third eye is viewed as one of the most important senses. It is believed to be the gateway to higher consciousness and spiritual development. It is also associated with perception, intuition, clairvoyance and lucid dreaming.

The Third Eye Chakra, also known as the ajna chakra in Sanskrit, is located between the eyebrows and near the pineal gland. It is the sixth of the seven chakras in the body and it represents the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspect of our existence.

Some people want to open their third eye chakra for various reasons, like to improve their intuitive abilities, boost their spiritual awareness, and increase their psychic powers. It is also thought to help with a variety of physical health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, and insomnia.

Essential oils are another great way to activate the third eye, especially white sage and pine oil. Some people find crystals helpful, too. For example, reiki master and chef Serena Poon recommends using labradorite or celestite in conjunction with essential oils.
