When Warzone 2 launched, fans of the game were excited to see a new map and mode. Resurgence resurgence is a spin on the battle royale formula, allowing players to respawn on a smaller map and play matches at a faster pace. It became a popular choice for players looking to level up their weapons quickly. However, after a season of Warzone 2, the original game was rebranded as Warzone Caldera, and both Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep were removed from the playlist.
While it may have seemed like a good idea to experiment with a rotating map system for Season 5, Raven Software seems to have committed a major blunder in doing so. In an attempt to make the main rotation playlist more consistent, they decided to remove the fan-favorite from the weekly playlist. Instead, it will only be available on fixed weekends for the rest of the season.
As a result, many fans are upset about the removal of the map and have been begging the devs to put it back in. One Reddit user posted a plea on the Warzone Pacific subreddit, asking the developers to “stop taking rebirth out of the rotation.” The post went on to receive over 500 upvotes and over 200 replies.
Fans might be able to get their wish after all, as Activision has hinted at a new Resurgence map and mode for the game’s season two launch. Leaked images of the map have begun making the rounds on social media, and it looks to be a combination of Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep with an extra point of interest near the castle area.
