Barbie has been around for more than 50 years and she is still a beloved toy among many young girls. She has been a symbol of what is possible for women and has had more than 200 careers over the years. There is a lot to know about Barbie but one question that has always been a mystery is what happened to her parents.
Until recently, there was never much mention of her family in the Barbie world. But now with the release of the Barbie movie and TV show, Mattel has started to give Barbie's parents a bigger role in her life. This has lead to speculation on the internet about what really happened to Barbie's parents.
According to the Barbie website, Barbie's full name is Barbara Millicent Roberts and she was created by Ruth Handler. She first made her debut at the American Toy Fair in 1959. She was modeled after Bild Lilli, a risque German doll that was sold in bars and tobacco shops in the 1950s.
Over the years, Barbie has had several younger sisters and brothers, including Stacie, Skipper, Tutti, and Todd. But these siblings were never given their own dolls and were dropped from the line over time. But in 2018 Mattel released an animated series called "Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures" that introduced Barbie's parents George and Margaret Roberts. Even though they were never given their own dolls, there is a theory on the internet that says they are actually Ken and Midge Hadley Sherwood's parents because they have the same last name as the Barbie's parents.
