BOSTON (CBS) — Radio listeners are buzzing after longtime Boston broadcaster Matt Siegel abruptly left his show Wednesday. Siegel is known for not holding back with his humor and witty anecdotes on air. But he ended his morning show with a fiery rant saying he’s quitting the job.
Siegel’s exit comes a week after he walked off the air in protest over his treatment by station management. He said he was told to tone down his commentary on pop star Demi Lovato’s announcement that they are non-binary. The move sparked an outpouring of support for Siegel from the community and other media outlets.
It’s unclear what’s next for Siegel, who has been at Kiss 108 for 41 years. But he has promised to come back soon.
