If you’re a fan of Discovery Channel’s reality show Alaskan Bush People, then you’ve probably seen Snowbird Brown on the show. The 27-year-old is well known for her adventurous spirit and her ability to imitate bird calls. She and her siblings live in the remote wilderness of Alaska and have been on the show since 2014.
During the most recent episode of the show, viewers watched as Snowbird struggled with a health issue. She had to undergo surgery after doctors discovered a cystic tumor and pre-cancerous cells in her body. The doctors advised her that she had a high risk of developing cancer in the future unless she had a hysterectomy.
The reality star fought the decision to have the procedure, but ultimately went through with it. The procedure involves the surgical removal of her uterus and, depending on the type of hysterectomy, can also include the cervix and Fallopian tubes. It would mean that she could never have biological children of her own, but she’s been able to find other ways to be happy in her life.
During the most recent season of the show, viewers have also been able to see Bear Brown marry his longtime love Raiven Adams and watch Noah Brown take flying lessons. It looks like there will be plenty of drama to come in the next few episodes as well.
