Dawson McAllister, born November 14, 1946, attended Bethel College in Minnesota and began studies at Talbot School of Theology. He was a pioneer in Christian radio, beginning in 1991 with his call-in talk show Dawson McAllister Live!, a format that grew from five stations to 250 stations and was named National Religious Broadcasters Talk Show of the Year. In addition, he founded TheHopeLine, an off-air rescue line that has helped millions of young people facing crises and deep dilemmas through one-on-one conversations and tens of thousands of annual referrals to trusted partners. He also founded the Dawson McAllister Student Conference, a youth group conference model that over 20 years grew to arena-sized events and saw hundreds of thousands of students learn spiritual truths about God's Kingdom and right values.
