Khaled Mohammed Khaled, better known as DJ Khaled, is an American disc jockey, record producer, and record executive whose catchphrases and energetic personality have made him a global phenomenon. His work regularly tops the Billboard charts and has garnered him Grammy nominations, but it was social media that catapulted the entrepreneur to superstardom. He uses Snapchat to connect with fans, promote his projects and chronicle his life. His Snapchat following is in the millions.

The rap superstar recently made headlines after being involved in a surfing accident. The "All I Do Is Win" musician reportedly suffered an injury while surfing in Turks and Caicos. According to footage he posted on social media, the star was riding an electrical board and lost balance, hitting the water hard. Khaled subsequently went to the doctor for X-rays, which indicated that his leg was injured but not broken.

Originally from New Orleans, Khaled got his start in music by working in record stores and crossing paths with members of Lil Wayne's Cash Money Records. He then moved to Miami where he began his radio career. He co-hosted a show with Luther Campbell of 2 Live Crew on WEDR's "99 Jamz" in the 1990s. He also dj'ed at clubs and under the monikers Arab Attack, Beat Novacane, and Terror Squadian.

His first album, 'Listennn... The Album,' was released in 2006. It featured artists like Kanye West, T-Pain and Ludacris and was a critical and commercial success. The project put him on the map, and his next album, 'Major Key,' continued his upward trajectory.
