July 12, 2023

The WWE Universe is no stranger to the idea of a character returning under a different name or a new look. In fact, it’s one of the most popular aspects of the wrestling business. But, what happens when a change doesn’t work? Well, that’s exactly what happened with Elias.

Jeffrey Daniel Sciullo, better known by his ring name Elias, is a multi-talented professional wrestler who is signed to WWE. He is a former NXT champion, where he created his “Drifter” ring gimmick from 2014 to 2017. He was eventually promoted to the main roster and made his debut on the July 16 episode of Raw. He teamed up with Randy Orton and Samoa Joe in a six-man tag team match against The New Day and he lost the bout.

In a later segment, Elias would make a heel turn and start attacking his opponents with his guitar. He would also chant a musical number in between matches and use his guitar to insult the crowd. In addition to his in-ring career, Elias has done a fair share of television and even appeared on the soundtrack for the 2K22 video game.

After WrestleMania 38, WWE rebranded Elias as Ezekiel, claiming that he was his younger brother in the storyline. At first, the character looked completely different with a clean shaved face and no beard. This led many fans to wonder What Happened To Elias WWE 2022. But, during the 4/4 edition of Raw, the former 24/7 Champion appeared on the show and addressed himself as Ezekiel.
