What Happened to Frank on American Pickers?

April 1, 2024

For more than a decade, American Pickers star Frank Fritz and cohost Mike Wolfe roamed backroads and small-town main streets in search of antiques and vintage trinkets that would add to their massive collections. Their streetwise knowledge and razor sharp gut instincts helped the History Channel series become a ratings and rerun juggernaut. But in July of 2021, it was announced that the pair would not return for a new season due to Fritz's health problems. He was hospitalized in the wake of a stroke and placed under conservatorship. Despite this, fans of the show have continued to call for the pair's reunion.

In a Facebook post, Mike Wolfe thanked fans for their support and wished for a speedy recovery for Fritz. The cohost went on to note that while he would love to see his friend on the screen again, it's not necessarily in the cards right now. "He's not overdoing it and stressing himself out, honoring his body and what needs to be done right now," he continued.

The statement went on to say that the Iowa resident is focusing on his recovery from the debilitating stroke, as well as the ongoing challenges of dealing with a chronic illness like Crohn's disease. He is also looking after his store, Frank Fritz Finds, which remains open while he receives in-patient care. He's been working hard to not drink alcohol and eat healthy, according to the report, and says that he appreciates all of the support and care from the people around him.
