Jeremy Renner – aka Hawkeye – suffered from a horrific snowplowing accident on New Year’s Day. The Marvel Cinematic Universe star had to be airlifted to hospital after the incident. But he’s now out of intensive care after several surgeries. He’s thanks all the medical staff who helped him get to this stage of recovery.

Despite sustaining injuries including blunt chest trauma and orthopedic damage, he’s a lot better than most people would expect after such an awful accident. Renner has been keeping fans updated on his status through Instagram posts. He also took the opportunity to thank the local authorities and medical staff who were helping him recover.

According to reports, the 51-year-old actor was plowing his driveway at his home in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, when a safety feature on his Snowcat plow malfunctioned and sent it rolling over one of his legs. He lost a considerable amount of blood, and neighbors had to perform first aid on him before medics arrived.

Fortunately, it didn’t take long for paramedics to arrive at the scene and get Renner on the helicopter that flew him to the nearest hospital. The actor is on the road to a full recovery, and is expected to return to work in the future. Until then, his fans can look forward to his appearance in the new Falcon and Winter Soldier Disney+ series and a second season of his Marvel Netflix show Mayor of Kingstown.
