For a long time, jim carrey was one of the biggest actors in Hollywood. He was the star of movies like Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Dumb and Dumber, The Mask and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. When Carrey was a teenager, his family experienced homelessness. He says this period shaped his attitude towards humor. He recalled being booed off the stage during his debut performance because he was wearing a polyester suit.

Despite being booed, Jim Carrey didn't give up on his dream. He worked hard and practiced his impressions. He eventually started appearing on television shows like The Sam Kinison Show and Rodney Dangerfield. In 1985, he tried out for SNL but was rejected by executive producer Lorne Michaels.

Over the years, Carrey starred in many more movies. Some of his most famous films are Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Cable Guy, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Bruce Almighty. He's also appeared on TV in shows like Kidding and the Showtime series Mr. Robot.
