Karen Borta is a veteran journalist and television anchor. She has been working for CBS 11 news since 1995. She worked for KRBK-TV and KCEN-TV prior to her job at CBS 11. She is also a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington. She is the recipient of regional Emmy awards, the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters award, the Association of Women Journalists' Vivian J. and the Press Club of Dallas Katie awards. She was also named a Legend of North Texas Journalism in 2019, the industry's prestigious lifetime excellence award. She is active in various charitable and civic organizations. Among others, she is involved with Mi Escuelita, Cook Children's Medical Center, and Baylor Sammons Breast Center.
