In the beginning of 2023, Good Morning America host Lara Spencer surprised her fans when she posted photos on social media showing her with a boot on one foot. The Garden City, New York native also showed off a scooter she planned to use to get around. While her injury may be a bit of a setback, she has been keeping her spirits up and giving viewers a glimpse into her life away from the GMA studio in the days that followed.
Spencer has been posting pictures of her progress in physical therapy on her Instagram page, which is full of photos of the host holding an exercise ball and doing leg and ab stretches. She's also shown off her scooter, which she playfully named Dolly. The GMA co-host is taking her challenges in stride, however, and has been a joy to watch during the show's broadcasts.
In a recent Instagram post, Spencer shared some big news with her followers as her daughter Katharine Kate Haffenreffer prepares to leave home for college. The GMA host and her husband Rick McVey are both excited for the next chapter in their lives.
During the first part of this year, Spencer had a surgery on her right foot to fix a torn plantar plate and ligament at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), which is the number 1 ranked orthopaedic hospital in the country. The torn ligament and plate was causing her pain and was getting worse over time.
