What Happened to Matt on KNIX?

August 23, 2023

The rumors are true: Matt McAllister is no longer part of the morning crew at KNIX-FM in Phoenix. The popular radio personality has landed a new gig, and it's in Seattle. He will join his former on-air partner, Ben Campbell, on KKWF-FM, known as 100.7 The Wolf, in Seattle. The duo was named CMA major market broadcast personalities of the year in 2009.

It's not clear what prompted the move. The station's spokesperson did not offer details. Campbell has been paired with Tim Hattrick and Brooke Hoover on the "The Tim, Ben & Brooke Show" since January 2017. He also worked alongside McAllister for 14 years on the "Ben & Brian Show" at 107.9 KMLE in Phoenix and 98.7 WMZQ in Washington DC and at KNIX through 2009.

One thing is clear: Campbell has left iHeartMedia. He had been a host at the company's country music station for over 20 years.

PHOENIX (KSAZ) — A story of second chances is playing out on the airwaves in Phoenix. It's the story of one of Arizona's most popular country radio hosts, and his return to morning radio.

Tim Hattrick will rejoin the team of Ben Campbell and Brooke Hoover on KNIX-FM in Phoenix starting Monday. The iHeartMedia morning crew will air from 5-10 a.m. weekdays on the station, which is owned by CBS Radio. Hattrick had been a co-host on the G105 morning show as Peanut Butter for over four years, and worked for several other iHeartMedia stations.
