The way that people rise to fame can seem arbitrary at times. Especially online, all it takes is a little luck and the right niche to become a multiplatform star. But once you hit that level, there’s a whole new set of rules and responsibilities that come with it. That’s something that mizkif has struggled with in recent years.

In a TwitLonger, popular streamer Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo let fans know that his relationship with fellow broadcaster and conservationist Maya Higa was over for good. The two had been dating for a couple of years and fans were deeply invested in their romance.

But now, Mizkif is facing controversy over an alleged incident that left his girlfriend, as well as his friends and community, hurt. Streamer Adrianah Lee claimed that she was sexually assaulted by streamer CrazySlick and that Mizkif worked to ensure it didn’t get out. The allegations even included a leaked DM from Mizkif containing racial slurs.

The ensuing scandal resulted in Mizkif being banned from Twitch for a while. However, he’s back now and looking to make a comeback. But will he have the same level of popularity as before?

While he hasn’t made an official return to streaming on his main channel, he’s been active on another one called ‘syn4ack.’ But with no sign of him returning to his main channel, it seems unlikely that he’ll ever make a full comeback. For now, it looks like he’ll just focus on his secondary account.
