What Happened to Nikita Dragun?

March 26, 2024

Nikita Dragun, who rose to prominence in YouTube’s beauty community and parlayed that success into TikTok as a member of The Hype House and the founder of her own cosmetics brand, is no stranger to controversy. But this week’s drama surrounding her arrest for felony battery on a police officer is particularly troubling, even by influencer standards.

TMZ reports that the 26-year-old was arrested Monday night at the Goodtime Hotel in Miami Beach for allegedly walking around the pool area “unclothed” and causing a disturbance. When staff members told her to stop, she allegedly refused and then threw water at them. Police were called, and according to an affidavit, she opened her door to officers and security, asked them, "Do you want more?" then swung an open water bottle at the hotel guard and police officers, splashing them with water.

Dragun was charged with felony battery on a police officer and misdemeanor disorderly conduct and was booked into Miami-Dade County’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Her reps tell TMZ that she was placed in the men's unit of the jail, which is common practice for transgender people incarcerated in Florida based on their sex at birth or genitalia at the time of arrest.

Her representatives say she has been "distressed and shocked" by the situation, and they are calling for the department to change its policies. She is due in court on December 7. Dragun has been posting on Instagram and Twitter, though she hasn't uploaded a new video to her YouTube channel since November.
