What Happened to Paige?

March 22, 2024

Paige is no stranger to controversy. The British wrestler, who is now starring in the new Netflix movie Fighting with My Family, is open about her battles with drugs and a life-altering neck injury. But she's also been through a lot more — including a sex tape leak that threatened to drive her to suicide.

Paige made her WWE debut in April 2014, defeating AJ Lee to win the Divas Championship and becoming the youngest titleholder in history at age 21. The former NXT Women's Champion was forced to retire from in-ring competition after sustaining an impact neck injury at a house show on December 27, 2017. She returned to WWE in non-wrestling roles, but the company eventually decided to let her go and she departed for rival promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

Despite a rocky start with the new wrestling company, Paige appears to be on the road to a comeback. She scrubbed her social media and revealed a new name for herself — Saraya Bevis — at this year's AEW Dynamite Grand Slam event, which was held at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City.

During the event, Paige made her ring return in front of a roaring crowd. The former WWE star took part in a tag team match with Asuka and Kairi Sane. And she's now working with AEW head coach Tony Khan, who previously managed her in WWE. This is a big step up from her work with WWE, where she had a limited role and was restricted to certain television shows.
