Rhea Ripley has been out of action for a while and fans were wondering what happened to her. The Australian wrestler took to social media and informed her fans that she lost a dear family member on Saturday. The SmackDown Women’s Champion posted a heart-breaking message on Twitter along with an old picture of herself and her grandmother.
The SmackDown Women’s Champion’s post went on to express her deepest condolences for the loss of her grandmother and wished her family peace. She also wrote that it had been a long time since she last met her grandmother and she cherished every moment spent with her.
Ripley, who is the muscle of The Judgment Day stable along with her on-screen boyfriend Dominik Mysterio, had been scheduled to compete in a Raw Women’s Championship match against Bianca Belair but she was pulled out due to an unspecified injury. She will return to the ring at the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view but that might be too early for her to return to the title match.
This is because the Australian wrestler is reportedly suffering from brain and teeth injuries. She was injured in a Fatal 4 Way at the beginning of this month when she got kicked in the head by Liv Morgan and that led to her missing this week’s episode of Raw.
Storyline wise, Michael Cole said that Rhea Ripley was away from the show due to bruised ribs but she was actually in Australia visiting her family and spotted at a rugby game with her fiance, AEW star Buddy Matthews. Hopefully, she makes a quick recovery and returns to the ring soon.
