What Happened to Scott Cawthon?

March 20, 2024

Scott Cawthon is an American independent video game designer, developer, animator, and writer, who is best known for creating & evolving the Five Nights at Freddy's game franchise. He's also created other games & animations such as Chipper and Son's Lumber Co., There is No Pause Button!, Rage Quit and Christian-based animations.

He's a very popular indie game maker and has had many of his games become extremely successful. The main reason for this success is because of his ability to create unique games that are fun and creative. He is also very skilled at designing and coding in a way that makes the games come to life. He is very good at taking the ideas he has in his head and making them into real games.

Last week, it was revealed that Cawthon had donated to several Republican lawmakers including President Trump, Mitch McConnell and Ben Carson. This caused a lot of controversy amongst the Five Nights at Freddy's fanbase, which is largely made up of LGBTQ people. In response to the backlash, Cawthon posted a lengthy Reddit post entitled "My Response and maybe last post".

In his post, he talked about how he loves his LGBTQIA2S+ fans and that he has always tried to treat everyone fairly. He also said that his donations to Republican politicians were a big mistake and that he's done a lot of damage to the community with his political views.

He then went on to say that he's retiring from gaming development and that he'll be choosing someone else to run the Five Nights at Freddy's series moving forward. He'll still be involved with the project though, just not as a developer. He'll be a part of the games in the future, but as an executive producer and a storyteller instead.
