But as temperatures soared, the snowman slowly began to melt, until finally he was nothing more than a sad puddle of water.

When Oslo Police detective Harry Hole (Michael Fassbender) wakes up in a park after a night of drinking, he finds a letter that informs him that his ex-girlfriend Birte Becker (Charlotte Gainsbourg) has mysteriously disappeared.
