What Happened to Trevon Diggs?

March 13, 2024

The Cowboys' feared loss of cornerback Trevon Diggs is now a reality. The second-year pro injured his left knee during Thursday's practice and was seen walking off the field on crutches afterward. An MRI later confirmed the worst-case scenario: A torn ACL.

The injury is a major blow to the Cowboys' defense, which has dominated through two weeks of action and been one of the league's best units. Diggs, a first-team All-Pro pick in 2021 who signed a five-year, $97 million contract extension in July, is considered the team's top cornerback.

In his absence, the Cowboys' secondary is led by Jourdan Lewis and DaRon Bland, who have both stepped up to play at the top of the Dallas secondary. Lewis has been one of the league's best rookie corners so far, while Bland has locked down the other outside corner spot.

Rob Gronkowski Slams Stefon Diggs for Handling Bills Turmoil

The Cowboys aren't able to do much about the tumult surrounding Buffalo, but at least they can take solace in the fact that their former cornerback is not a fan of the current situation.

Trevon Diggs tuned in to Monday Night Football and watched his brother Stefon play for the Buffalo Bills against Denver, and he did not like what he saw. The Cowboys' veteran cornerback wants his younger sibling to leave the Bills. Here's why.
