Vinita Nair was a TV Journalist working for CBS News. She was a co-host of the show CBS This Morning Saturday alongside Anthony Mason. She was replaced by Alex Wagner, starting with the episode that aired on November 19, 2016. Vinita Nair is an American journalist and also the founder of a social media branding company. She is a graduate of Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
Nair began her career as a writer for Today’s Chicago Woman magazine and then served as a reporter for Talk Radio News in Washington DC. After that, she started her television journalism career in 2000 at WGEM-TV in Quincy, Illinois as a general assistant reporter. Later, she moved on to anchor and report for WYCC-TV and Chicago’s public, educational, and government access (PEG) cable TV channel, Evanston Community Cable Channel. She also worked as an anchor and lead evening reporter for KOLN/KGIN-TV in Lincoln, Nebraska. Nair anchored daily morning and afternoon newscasts as well as reports for KWGN-TV, the CW affiliate in Denver from July 2004.
NAIR is married to Osman Nawaz and the duo have a son together. The couple maintains a low-key profile but is extremely happy with each other.
Nair’s husband is a television director. He is currently working with an NBC affiliate in Texas. Earlier, he was a reporter for Dallas-based ABC affiliate WFAA. Nair has been a guest host for News 8 Daybreak on that station along with World News Now and America This Morning alum Ron Corning.
