Vinita Nair is a journalist who worked for the ABC News for over 10 years. She was the co-host of America This Morning and World News Now. She left the show on February 18, 2011 to work at MSNBC. From there, she anchored the commentary program Martin Bashir and also anchored the early morning news shows Early Today on NBC and First Look on MSNBC. She was also a regular guest anchor for CBS This Morning Saturday with Anthony Mason from 2013 to 2016.
Nair was married to fellow journalist Osman Elahi on October 10, 2009 in a traditional Indian-themed wedding. The couple has a son, Tahir who was born on January 25, 2012. The duo is quite happy together and maintains a low key profile about their personal life. Their dedication to the same profession might have contributed to their understanding of each other’s needs.
Recently, Nair appeared as a guest anchor on Dallas-based ABC affiliate WFAA for News 8 Daybreak alongside Ron Corning (World News Now and America This Morning alum) on October 12 and 13 of 2017. But fans were disappointed to learn that Nair was not returning for the weekday show’s next episode. Instead, she was replaced by Alex Wagner.
Nair earned a bachelor’s degree from Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and has an impressive education record. She currently works for an NBC News affiliate in Texas as a special assignments reporter on extended projects. She makes a good salary from her job and her net worth is around $3 million.
