What Happened to Voldemort's Nose?

April 3, 2024

Lord Voldemort is one of the most complex villains that has ever graced the pages of a fantasy book series. He has many evil qualities that make him terrifying, including his serpentine appearance, deathly pale skin, gnarly gnashers, cat-like pupils, and barely-there nose with slits for nostrils. These details make him a menacing figure, and they help to explain why he is considered to be one of the most powerful wizards in the magical world.

However, it’s interesting to note that Voldemort did not always look like a snake. He was a handsome young man named Tom Riddle when he first appeared in the Harry Potter books and movies. He was not yet a master of Dark Magic, but he had already begun to experiment with evil powers. During this time, he started to lose his attractive features and gained a reptilian appearance.

As he dabbled deeper into Dark Magic, Voldemort lost his resemblance to a human and slowly transformed into the monster that he is today. He had become a creature of pure evil, and it was probably only natural that his outer appearance matched his dark soul.

There are many theories as to what happened to Voldemort’s nose. Some fans believe that the snake spell that he cast on himself to transform into a snake caused his nose to disappear. Others believe that the potion that Wormtail gave Voldemort (made from unicorn blood and Nagini’s venom) caused his nose to deteriorate. Still others believe that Voldemort’s nose was digitally removed by Ralph Fiennes for the movie adaptations of the series.
