Age was a significant determinant of AA size with an average increase of 1.2 mm per each 10-year change in age and 1 mm per each 0.23 m2 increase in BSA (Table 2). Men had 1.9 mm larger AA luminal diameter than women after adjusting for these variables.
Blood pressure related variables including hypertension, SBP, DBP, MBP and PP showed positive associations with AA diameter in minimally adjusted models, although the overall effect size was small. The influence of DBP was more than twice that of SBP (0.73 vs. 0.32 mm increase in AA luminal diameter per 1 standard deviation -SD- increase in DBP).
