Veronica Fuentes (Michelle Forbes) is the new medical director at New Amsterdam. She’s a lot different than Max Goodwin, and she’s making all sorts of changes to the hospital. She’s also got a very interesting side storyline that could potentially threaten the entire show’s arc this season.
The first episode of Season 4 rolled out some really great character interactions, case plots that have unique feels, and it even had a lot of PDA in the mix. It was all in the name of giving viewers what they needed, and it was the first time we felt like New Amsterdam was getting back to its roots.
Dr Fuentes has some serious pedigree as a fixer, and she’s bringing that to New Amsterdam! She was recently tapped to replace Max Goodwin as the medical director, so it’s fair to say that this isn’t just any old fixer.
She’s an internationally recognized plastic surgeon, who’s also a well-known expert in repair of facial injuries. She’s been practicing in New York City for more than 34 years, and has performed thousands of procedures.
Her specialties include aesthetic surgery, rhinoplasty, and eyelid surgery. She also has extensive experience in breast augmentation, tummy tucks, and gynecology.
She’s also a skilled cardiologist, with a particular interest in minimally invasive techniques for treating severe heart disease. She’s done some incredible research, and she’s published textbook chapters and peer-reviewed articles in the field of cardiovascular diseases. She also enjoys speaking to patients about their health and making sure that they know what’s going on with their health.
